Josh Bostick

Director of Football Operations

Josh Bostick was a three-sport athlete and three-year football starter at West Mifflin Area High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He was an All-State, a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette “Fabulous 22”, and a BIG 33 “Football Classic” All-Star selection.  Josh committed to play at Kent State University where he was a two-sport collegiate athlete in both football and track. In addition, the two-time “Most Inspirational Player” award winner and former team captain signed a free agent contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League (CFL).  After his playing career, he started coaching football at Stow- Munroe Falls and Streetsboro High School in Ohio where he served as the wide receivers coach. After moving to Chicago in 2007, Josh began coaching youth football in the northwest suburbs for the last 10 years. He is also the Founder and Head Coach of the Flippen Flyers Track Club.  Coach Bostick has coached 12 National Champions (USATF – AAU) and 106 All-Americans (USATF- AAU) within the 7-year existence of the program. He specializes in football training, track & field vertical / horizontal jump training and motivational speaking. He resides in Palatine, IL with his wife, Courtney and three children Jacob, Jordan and Cali.

Buke

DL

Michael Buchanan, also known as Buke, is a former American football defensive end. Buke went to Homewood-Flossmoor High School, where he was selected to the Champaign News-Gazette All-State team, and was rated as a 4-star recruit by Rivals.com. He continued on to play college football at the University of Illinois where he was selected to the Second-team All-Big Ten in 2011 and 2012. Then during his senior season, he was selected to the Illinois Fighting Illini’s Outstanding Defensive Player and Defensive Lineman. Michael Buchanan was drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Then in 2015 played for the Buffalo Bills and BC Lions, and Toronto Argonauts in 2016. Michael has been training at EFT since 2010 and started training athletes in 2015. At EFT Buke specializes in performance training for strength, speed, and agility, and specific football development training

Nate

OL

Nate Oquendo was a three-year Varsity starter at Mount Carmel High School, where he was a 2 time All-American, winning 2 Illinois State Titles and a Chicago city title, all while training at EFT himself. He went on to play college football at Western Illinois where he was a 4 year letterman and honed his craft in offensive and defensive skill. Upon Completion of his 4 years at WIU, he became the Assistant Defensive Line Coach at his Alma Mater while pursuing his Masters, learning the ins and outs of coaching and perfecting his craft. Nate specializes in Offensive Line and Defensive Line skill applying what he has learned through his life on the field. Currently, he is working as a Physical Education Teacher at Baker College Prep but is excited to return to his role as a coach.

Landon

WR

Landon Cox was a three-year football starter at Thornton Fraction- al North High School in Calumet City, IL, before playing wide receiver at Northern Illinois University. Landon played in the NFL teams such as the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Landon began training at EFT Sports Performance in 2007, including his NFL Combine/Pro Day training. Landon specializes in 40 yard/60 yard Dash training, as well as high school and college performance training for strength, speed, and agility.

Corey

Corey Cooper was a three-year at Proviso-East High School. He was selected to the All-State team twice and was rated a four-star recruit by Rivals.com. He went on to play at the University of Nebraska where he was academic All-Big-Ten, First Team All-Big Ten (BTN 2013), also was voted as a team captain. Corey was selected to play in the East West Shrine (college all-star) game after college career. Currently a certified fitness trainer and recognized as an “Elite Trainer” through credentials with the ISSA.

Matt

RB

Matt began training at EFT when he was 15 years old. He attended Mount Carmel High School where he ran track and played football, winning back to back state championships in 2012 and 2013. During his Junior and Senior Year, Matt won numerous Catholic League Player of the Week and 2013 Times Player of the Year accolades. Originally attending University of Illinois, he transferred and found home at Bowling Green State University where he helped BGSU to achieve a MAC Championship in his first season. After back to back season ending injuries, Matt completed his degree and graduated from BGSU. Upon returning to Chicago, Matt took it upon himself to help out with his father’s business while he overcame being diagnosed with Cancer and Covid-19. After a successful recovery, Matt decided to return back to EFT to become a trainer and help give back the knowledge of the game he learned along his journey for the young and upcoming Running Backs that come through EFT’s program.

Byron

QB

Byron Dawkins was a 2-year starting quarterback at Evanston Township High School. He went on to start at College of Dupage and Robert Morris University. He made 1st team all conference during his senior year at Evanston as well as making captain. During his senior year he received the Julie K. Hughes scholarship memorial leadership award in 2011. Byron led both the College of Dupage and Robert Morris University where he was also a captain senior year to winning seasons. He led Robert Morris to their first conference championship appearance. Byron resides in Evanston and looks forward to returning to the north shore community in the role of a coach.
